Additional Information: Fossil Brain Coral refers to fossil corals that have a spheroid shape and grooves that look like a brain. This type of fossil coral grew in shallow warm water coral reefs. This fossil coral is from the Pleistocene era and is technically a rock. Since, the beginning of the 1st millennium, coral has been highly praised as a gem because it was believed to have mysterious powerful and sacred properties. This particular piece is black with grayish brain-like figure and has cracks/crevices for additional character. The Giraffe Bones I use are from the leg bones of the Giraffe. These bones come from South Africa and were legally obtained from harvested animals. Giraffe bones have a nice patina and provide a nice contrast to the Fossil Brain Coral.
