Ebony is a super dense black wood that will sink in water. The wood takes on a beautiful smooth finish when polished and can sometimes have brownish colored streaks. Ebony is considered an ornamental wood and historically was used for the black keys of a piano. Cameroon ebony comes from the Western Africa nation of Cameroon and was legally obtained. This wood is one of the most expensive of all woods and provides a nice contrast to the Weathered Ox Horn Bark.
