Additional Information: Silky Oak has a very conspicuous flecking. The wood itself is a reddish brown with light brown rays. silky Oak has the most pronounced figure and displays the largest flecks when perfectly quartersawn. These flecks make the wood looks 3-D chatoyance in appearance. This particular piece is awesome and explodes with 3-D figure when rotated.

Honduras Rosewood is a very hard and heavy wood with multi red and brown colors. Honduras Rosewood has a distinctive rose fragrance. This wood has been sought after hundreds of years ago from furniture and musical instrument makers. Honduras Rosewood sometimes produces a burl in which the grain is radically deformed because of some stress or damage and makes small birdseye knots. This burl wood is highly figured and is sliced into veneers and thus accounts for much of its rarity and price. The Honduras Rosewood Burl that I use has been sustainably harvested. This particular piece provides a nice contrast to the Silky Oak.
