| Additional Information: Box Elder Burl comes from very old trees and this particular piece came from a tree planted during the original Mormon migration in Utah. This tree was cut down in an elderly lady's front yard to avoid property damage to her house. What makes this particular piece unique is the outrageous "spalting" (the darker figure) which is thought to occur because of a fungus. Hence you get a highly figured piece of wood with high contrast and results in a very unique attractive colorful piece of wood. |
