Information:
This piece of Spalted Wormy Maple came from a lumber mill in
Pennsylvania. The Maple was left in a damp environ and a fungus is
thought to have created the black pen-line figure. The wood also has
insect damage which created a bunch of "worm holes" that
further create a wild looking piece of wood!!
The
Ironwood is from a dead tree that was hundreds of years old and found in
Mexico. These trees are now "protected" and are usually
only available from trees that have died and laying down. The
Ironwood provides a nice contrast to the lighter colored Spalted
Wormy Maple.
