Additional
Information: The Walnut Burl used in my knives came from an old Claro Walnut
tree orchard that was cut down and replanted with almond trees near
Chico California. The
burl from a Claro walnut tree is a growth in which the grain is
radically deformed because of some stress or damage and makes small
birdseye knots. As a result, Claro walnut burl produces some nice
looking figure.
Eucalyptus trees are often known as gum
trees and are fast-growing and produces oil that can be used
for cleaning and used as a natural insecticide. Eucalyptus is also
one of the strongest healing woods known and have been used for
medicines for centuries. The wood is highly recommended for any
purpose combating illness or promoting good health and is associated
with good luck. Curly eucalyptus is a wavy grain wood that appears
like a corrugated surface, often shows 3-d like reflections, and is
rare. This wavy grain wood is usually near limbs and roots of the
eucalyptus tree. The Curly Eucalyptus that I use came from the North Island of New
Zealand and has nice 3-D curls.
