Box Elder Burl Bolster

This is an example of a Box Elder Burl used as a bolster on a Utility/Hunter knife. Note that this Box Elder Burl is stabilized and is fairly light in color-- a perfect wood for using as a bolster with a dark handle for great contrast. The handle in the picture is Salt Cedar Burl. This Box Elder Burl was harvested from a down tree in Western Colorado near the Utah border.
