Damascus
Steel Definition--
Refers to steel
consisting of wavy patterns in its finish. Damascus steel is created
by welding together different pieces of steel (pattern welding),
then folding the piece onto itself, and hammering that piece flat.
The process is repeated until the desired line patterns have been
achieved. Damascus steel was famous in ancient times for its
durability and ability to hold an edge.
