Information:
The 6,000 Year Old Swamp Kauri was growing during the ice age when
Woolly Mammoths were roaming and was buried by natural cataclysmic
events. This Swamp Kauri is the oldest workable timber on Earth. The
tree was discovered by a utility company which were preparing to
install utility poles and they came across a huge Kauri tree buried
in the ground in New Zealand. The tree was removed and pieces were
sent for carbon-dating and these were determined to be around 6,000
years old. This particular piece of Swamp Kauri has nice swirly
figure and two-tone colors.
Apple is a fruit tree
wood with very fine texture. Trees are slow growing and normally
only cut when they’re no longer useful as a fruit tree, Apple is a
prized wood for whirlwind instruments.
This particular piece is knotty with nice figure
and
complements
the

Kauri.
